Jessica Muñiz Witmer

Seamstress

My granny gave me her old sewing machine—and shopping at the mall hasn't been the same since.

Each time I go out to buy something, I examine the material, the stitching and the folds. It is inevitable that I start to piece a pattern together in my head. How can I make this? How could I make this better? And so begins my next creation when I return home.

I've created baby blankets, home pillows, wrap-skirts, dresses and grocery bags for myself, as gifts and even sold some along the way. My projects always include a little more color and function than what I am able to find in the market.

I have received a few requests for a computer case, a baby bag, and a set of family Christmas stockings. Personally, I have been dreaming of a warmer season featuring a new spring collection...stay tuned!
